Accessibility
Last Reviewed: October 17, 2026
At RSM Laces (rsmlace.com), we want every visitor to be able to browse our laces, place an order, and get help, regardless of ability or the technology they use. Accessibility is a genuine priority for this store, and this page explains what we have done, how we test, and what is still in progress.
1. Our Commitment
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as our technical target. Meeting this target is an ongoing process: we cannot claim the website is "fully accessible" or "100% compliant", and we do not treat any single test or automated scan as proof of conformance.
2. Measures We Have Implemented
- A Skip to main content link as the first keyboard stop on every page.
- Semantic page structure with landmark regions and consistent headings.
- Product cards, menus, size selection, cart, and checkout operable with the keyboard alone.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive controls.
- Descriptive, programmatically associated names for icon-only buttons (cart, menus, theme, quantity controls, close buttons).
- Dialogs for the cart and product details marked up as dialogs, closable with the Escape key, with focus moved into them when opened.
- Announced filter results and form statuses for screen-reader users.
- Respect for your operating system's reduced motion setting: animations, marquees, and smooth scrolling are disabled automatically when that preference is set.
- Labeled forms with required fields identified in text, sensible autocomplete hints, and errors described in words.
- An accessibility feedback form (below) that does not require an account, a screenshot, or proof of disability.
3. Testing Methods and Scope
What we actually did in our most recent review (October 2026):
- Manual code inspection of shared components (navigation, footer, product grid, product dialog, cart, contact form) against WCAG 2.2 A and AA criteria.
- Keyboard-only navigation testing of the core shopping journey in a desktop browser: browsing products, filtering by category, opening a product, choosing a size, adding to cart, and opening checkout.
- Structural and markup checks of the account, order history, and administrator pages.
What has not been completed yet is listed under Known Barriers below. A passing automated check is never treated as proof that this site is accessible.
4. Known Barriers and Limitations
We publish our current limitations rather than hiding them:
- Screen-reader testing (NVDA with Chrome, VoiceOver with Safari) has not yet been performed end-to-end. Keyboard paths are implemented, but screen-reader behavior still needs verification by a person using those tools.
- Some gallery photographs have short general descriptions; they are not yet described in detail.
- Legal and policy pages (including this one) are published in English only, while the storefront itself supports many languages.
- Third-party services: the payment form (Stripe) and some sign-in screens are provided by external services. We review their accessibility impact, but we cannot modify their interfaces, and their accessibility does not remove our responsibility for the parts of the site we control.
- Long documents available for download may not yet be fully remediated.
5. Need Help or Want to Report a Barrier?
Use the feedback form below β no account is required. You only need to tell us the page or feature, what blocked you, and what help you would like. You can also email us directly at info@rsmlace.com with the subject "Accessibility".
We review every report and use it to prioritize fixes. If you tell us how to reach you, we will respond to requests for help with things like completing an order. Your report does not affect your rights.
6. Changes to This Statement
We update this page whenever we make significant accessibility changes, with a new Last Reviewed date reflecting a real review.
